Topa Kuler Chutney

It is a nutritious dish and very simple to prepare and requires a few ingredients. It is very popular all over Bengal and it goes well with steamed rice.The dish is perfect for summer.

Ingredients:

200 gm topa kul (Indian plum) (washed)
100 gm sugar or jaggery
1-teaspoon rai (black mustard seeds)
1 dried red chilli
1-teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1-tablespoon mustard oil
1-2 cup of water

Instructions:

1. Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the chilli & rai.
2. Give the topa kul & fry well.
3. Add turmeric powder, salt & sugar.
4. Add water and cook it for 10 min in a low flame with cover.
5. Keep it in a glass bowl for cooling and enjoy the chutney.
